Hello everyone,
I’ve been running a Shopify store for a little over a year now, and until recently everything was going really well. My store was ranking well on Google for several important keywords in my niche, and my traffic and sales were pretty stable month after month.
But over the past month, I’ve watched my traffic slowly drop day by day. At first, I thought it was just a temporary slowdown or maybe seasonal changes, but then I started digging deeper into my analytics and search rankings. That’s when I noticed something really concerning: I’m barely appearing on Google anymore for the same keywords that I used to rank in the top 3 for on the first page.
It honestly feels like my store disappeared overnight.
The strange thing is that on other search engines like Bing, my rankings are still strong and I’m still showing up on the first page in the top results. So this issue seems to only be happening with Google specifically, which makes the situation even more confusing.
I’m definitely not an SEO expert, but I’ve tried my best to follow all the recommended practices. My pages are indexed, I don’t have any manual penalties or warnings in Google Search Console, my site structure and linking seem fine, my content is original, and I haven’t used spammy backlinks or black-hat SEO tactics.
Because of that, I really don’t understand what could have caused such a major drop in visibility. Has anyone else experienced something similar recently with Shopify stores or Google rankings? Could this be related to a Google algorithm update, technical SEO issue, or some kind of hidden penalty/shadow ban situation?
I’m honestly pretty stressed about it because Google traffic was a huge part of my business, and watching the clicks disappear more and more every day is frustrating and worrying.
If anyone has advice, insight, or has gone through something similar, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience.
