One thing that really irritated me about Pearson scoring was how inconsistent everything felt. You could spend hours trying to understand the rubric and finally feel confident, then suddenly your scoring gets flagged because someone else interpreted the answer differently. It honestly felt like you were expected to read minds instead of just follow instructions.

The supervisors kept saying “follow the rubric,” but then would turn around and contradict themselves in meetings and messages. It became mentally exhausting trying to keep up with all the changes. I understand quality checks are important, but the communication was all over the place. 😩

What made it worse was the pressure. They expect you to move fast, stay accurate, and somehow remain calm while people are constantly correcting you in different ways. Instead of helping scorers improve, it felt more like people were waiting for you to mess up.

I’ve worked stressful jobs before, but this one felt different because the confusion never stopped. A lot of people probably leave feeling like they failed when honestly the system itself feels unorganized.
