So I don’t know if anybody else is going through this, but I ordered some groceries from Piggly Wiggly in Riegelwood, North Carolina. As you guys know, if you’re in the area or surrounding areas like Delco, Acme-Delco, or East Arcadia, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Piggly Wiggly is like the only grocery store in the area that can actually deliver items whenever you need groceries brought to your house.

What I’ve realized over the last few weeks is that every time I order something from this grocery store, there’s always either not enough items, they don’t have what I need at all, or something is wrong with the food. Today I ordered some canned goods because I was cooking dinner, and when I got them, they had this black smudgy stuff on them, which was disgusting.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but I will say it’s becoming a real problem because every single time I order something, there is literally something wrong with the items. I don’t understand what is happening, and I feel like it’s not even worth ordering from that area anymore. If I order something from Piggly Wiggly, I pretty much already know they’re probably not going to have it, or something is going to be wrong with it. It’s really getting out of hand.

I don’t know, I just felt like ranting about it a little bit because when you really need things and it’s the only grocery store in the area, it feels like they’re not really providing you with the things that you need. I don’t know if it’s because the store isn’t getting enough items in, but it’s kind of crazy to me that you can have a grocery store that’s probably the only full grocery store close to the area, besides Family Dollar for smaller items, and they still don’t have a lot of products.

I feel like maybe, since we’ve had issues with tariffs and food production and farmers are having problems, they just can’t keep up with production. I don’t know, but it’s kind of sad that I have to order my groceries all the way from Leland. If you live in the Delco, Acme-Delco, or East Arcadia area, or even a little farther out, you understand how much money you have to spend just so DoorDash can bring you what you need.

Mind you, Uber doesn’t come to Acme-Delco or East Arcadia. DoorDash is about the only delivery app you can use unless you drive yourself. A lot of times I don’t even drive to the grocery store because I already know they’re not going to have what I need. I really hate getting in my car, burning gas, and wasting money on a trip that probably isn’t going to be worth it.

I end up having to order from Food Lion in Leland or closer to the Wilmington area, and it’s really getting out of hand. By the time you actually get your groceries, you’re paying almost $30 or $40 for just a couple of items.

Everything is getting bad. I understand it. It’s just the world we live in. Trump got in office, things have been terrible, and I just felt like venting a little bit because anyone who lives in this area understands exactly where I’m coming from. I just feel like right now we’re really in trouble because they can’t even keep stuff in the grocery store.
