I’ve been thinking about this lately, and I wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way. Kayla Alderman has been on YouTube for quite some time now, and it’s honestly kind of crazy to me that I’ve been watching her since she first started her channel. It’s been about six years, and one thing I can’t figure out is how YouTube has barely moved her up in the algorithm. I think she is freakin AWESOME!!! Better than most channels! So why isn’t YouTube pushing out more of her content? Something just doesn’t seem right.
I’m not saying she isn’t continuing her journey or putting in the effort, because she clearly is. But if someone has been consistently creating content for six years and still only has a little over 1,200 subscribers, it makes me wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes. This really discourages me..
It also makes me think about all the small creators who get overlooked every single day. How many talented people are creating good content but never getting discovered because the algorithm simply isn’t showing them to new viewers?
I think that’s one of the most frustrating things about YouTube right now. It can make creators feel like giving up. You put in the work, upload consistently, improve your content, and still feel invisible. Meanwhile, other channels seem to explode overnight.
I’ve always enjoyed Kayla’s content, and I’ve followed her for years, which is why her growth has surprised me. Maybe I’m missing something, but I genuinely thought she’d be much bigger by now. Has anyone else heard of Kayla Alderman? Do you watch her content?
What do you think is holding smaller creators back in today’s YouTube environment? Is it the algorithm, content strategy, competition, or something else entirely? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts because this has been on my mind for a while.

She is great to watch on screen I just feel that YouTube doesn’t give credit to where credit is due 😦
